About this tool
This is a single-purpose utility built around one recurring annoyance: assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini reply in Markdown, and the places people actually put that text — Word documents, Gmail messages, Google Docs, Notion pages, Excel sheets — do not understand Markdown. Copying an answer directly gives you a wall of asterisks, hash marks and pipe characters that then has to be cleaned up by hand.
The tool does three narrow things well: it renders Markdown to a faithful preview, it writes that rendering to the clipboard as rich text so pasting preserves headings, emphasis, lists and tables, and it converts Markdown tables into tab-separated values so spreadsheet paste lands one value per cell.
Design decisions
- No accounts, no backend. There is nothing to sign up for and nowhere for content to be stored.
- Established libraries for parsing and sanitizing. Hand-rolled Markdown parsers and hand-rolled HTML sanitizers are a well known source of security bugs, so this build uses marked 12.0.2 and DOMPurify 3.1.6 rather than bespoke regular expressions. Both are inlined in the page, so the tool has no runtime dependencies and works offline.
- Honest about clipboard limits. Rich-text clipboard support varies by browser and destination app. The interface says so instead of pretending otherwise, and always offers a manual fallback.
Scope
It supports the Markdown constructs people actually paste: headings, paragraphs, emphasis, strikethrough, nested lists, links, blockquotes, inline and fenced code, horizontal rules, tables and escaped characters. It is not a full document editor, it does not render diagrams or math, and it does not attempt to reproduce any particular application's styling.
